CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
A funny old winter, not yet over, but I think we have been very lucky and got away without much in the way of really cold weather. It has been so mild that the garden plants are totally mixed up and are not quite sure as to what they should be doing. So come on down to the sheds on Sundays and buy some of our composts and fertilisers and give them a good start for the summer. We have a new supplier this year, it's excellent stuff, all the way from Wales and you will be getting more for your money. We also have 50 Rose bushes available, a mixture of hybrid tea, floribunda and climbers. There is a list of varieties available for those who are interested. They are priced at £4.50 each or £12 for three. You may have to order them one week and pick up the next as they are currently residing in my veg patch! They are really strong healthy plants.
As some of you will know, we have dispensed with the membership collectors this year and will be renewing all memberships at the sheds on Sunday mornings. Please pass on this message to all your friends and neighbours. Annual membership remains at £2 or £1 for over sixties.
I am issuing this newsletter for our opening so that you can make a note of all the important dates throughout the year. I shall probably be writing a further 2 or 3 newsletters through the summer.

Sat Sept 10th. SEASIDE TRIP TO EASTBOURNE. £10 per ticket
The trips are outstanding value and therefore will initially be exclusively for members.
Bookings will be taken from Feb 14th.
