CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
I am pleased to report that we have had a very solid year with good sales of plants, compost and manure. We made a concerted effort and bought in lots of high quality plants which sold very well and I have had only good reports from members who bought them, although I expect there will be a few casualties with the current drought conditions. Our home grown bedding plants were not as good as last year, which I believe was mainly due to the cold spring turning into instant summer. Having said that, the greenhouse and surrounding area give us a storage space for all our plants which is a great asset. Some of you will have noticed that we have a new supplier for our compost, which is of excellent quality and the supplier is reliable. Our supplier in Wales let us down in the spring, giving us manure instead of compost which those who bought it were quick to point out. We shall continue to get manure from Wales as it is so good.
